Welcome back! I hope you had a relaxing and wonderful Fourth of July weekend! If you got out there and marched or protested, we salute you!
We are facing many of the same problems that we did before the holiday. First, Trumpcare is not dead. Mitch McConnell has submitted two different versions of the health care bill to the Congressional Budget Office for scoring. This means that the bill is very much alive. Even worse, it is rumored that the Republicans may be contemplating allowing states to waive Medicaid ALTOGETHER. This, obviously, would be a disaster for the sick and disabled across the country, and we must stop this.
Call Rob Portman and demand that he protect Medicaid and pre-existing conditions.
Governor John Kasich did the right thing and vetoed the state Republicans’ attempt to freeze Medicaid in Ohio. But, once again, it is not over: the Republicans are considering overriding Kasich’s veto and are dangerously close to getting the votes for it. We cannot let this happen. The future of Ohio’s Medicaid expansion rests with us.
Call your state representative and senator and tell them to protect Medicaid in Ohio. Tell them that health care should be a right, not a privilege.
Only call Rob Portman if you live in Ohio!
Only call the state representative and senator of your own community!

Ohio districts are heavily gerrymandered, so it is recommended you use the official Ohio House of Representatives and Ohio Senate sites to look up your local representatives. In some cases, you may have to enter the 9 digit zip code to pinpoint your exact location.
