Daily Action for Thursday, July 13th: Save the Internet!

Do you watch movies on Netflix? Do you play video games on Steam? Or even like to watch stupid cat videos on YouTube? The Trump administration is actively trying to make that harder for you. People who use the Internet are currently protected by the “net neutrality” guidelines established by the Obama administration. Net neutrality ensures that your internet provider must treat every piece of data the same. Verizon, for instance, cannot slow down your Netflix connection if they made a deal with Hulu. Trump’s FCC wants to take away these rules, and let your internet provider tell you how you should spend your time online. Even worse, in rural areas like our district you cannot just switch providers if you are unhappy with the slow download times. If we want a free and open Internet, we must fight for it.

Go to this page and follow the instructions to leave a comment with the FCC. Tell them not to let the government get involved with how we use our internet.

Moderates in the GOP are realizing that not only cutting the Medicaid expansion in Obamacare, but also cutting Medicaid that existed before Obamacare, is a bad idea. Portman claims to be defending Medicaid, but at times he seems to be on the fence. Let’s remind him of how important Medicaid is to Ohioans.

Call Rob Portman and demand that any replacement to Obamacare must not cut Medicaid and the Medicaid expansion.

Please only call Rob Portman if you live in Ohio.
