Daily Action for Monday, July 17th: A (Temporary) Victory

We have had a partial victory. Mitch McConnell has delayed the vote for Trumpcare again. The reason? Senator John McCain is having a blood clot removed from above his eye, and McConnell cannot lose even a single vote. Yes, your activism has made the voting margin so razor-thin that the bill will fail if only one more senator votes against it or, as in McCain’s case, is unable to vote. And we should note the irony here: McCain’s blood clot was only discovered in a routine checkup, the very type of preventive care that won’t be possible for many people under Trumpcare. We hope McCain has a speedy recovery and are glad that he has great health insurance, but why shouldn’t everyone have the same health insurance he has? It’s time to keep the pressure up, and remind Rob Portman that EVERYONE deserves quality health insurance.

Call Rob Portman and tell him everyone deserves the same health insurance that John McCain and other members of Congress receive.

Please only call Rob Portman if you live in Ohio.
