What happened in Charlottesville was a tragedy. And with Donald Trump’s backing of the white supremacists, more tragedies like it will happen unless we do something about it. Trump has already begun encouraging violence by cutting the funds for a group that deals with white nationalist extremists. If Donald Trump is not going to denounce and help prevent hate, Congress must. Congress must hold hearings with the law enforcement under Trump’s command, and make sure that domestic white terrorism is taken as the priority it should be.
Call Bob Latta and Rob Portman and demand that Congress hold hearings detailing the terrorist threat from white supremacists. Tell them to make sure that groups that monitor and prevent domestic terrorism are well-funded.
